Quote from Lance Armstrong:

“I didn’t just jump back on the bike and win. There were a lot of ups and downs, good results and bad results, but this time I didn’t let the lows get to me.” – Lance Armstrong

February 1st Report from Dad

Hi everybody! I’m in my car with my assistant being driven by my driver to Mexico City for some meetings with my boss and all his direct reports. Tonight we fly to Acapulco for three days of meetings (including some activities on the beach and in town). Life is rough!
I weighed in this morning (February 1st) at 187.6, down 2.4lbs and a body fat of 25.4%, down 1.8%. Not too great for me in terms of weight loss averaging less than a pound a week, but I’m happy because I , at least, reversed the past 7 month trend of steadily gaining weight.
I’ve been focused only on getting back into a routine of exercise. My simple plan is this: Monday – run 1 hour, Tuesday – lift weights and do a couple of abs exercises, Wednesday – bike on my trainer to a video for an hour, Thursday – run one hour (I plan to increase this to 1.5 hours by the end of March), Friday – lift weights again, Saturday – bike on the road for an hour (slowly increasing to two hours). My running is going well but my weight makes me very slow. The weight training and bike have only been about 50% consistent. My goals for February are to get consistent with the weights and bike and keep going on the run (slowly adding speed work on the Monday run).
Regarding nutrition my only progress has been to avoid desserts except for on date night. I’m doing pretty well with that except when Jenny makes chocolate chip cookies!
Congratulations to Corinne and Mike! You are both doing really, really great!
